Andrey Shlyak

Andrey Shlyak is a colonel, deputy commander for armaments of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division. Open sources indicate the following service affiliation: 127th Motorized Rifle Division.

As deputy commander for armament, Colonel Shlyak bears direct responsibility for the technical condition, combat readiness, and supply of weapons and military equipment for the 127th Motorized Rifle Brigade. Under his leadership, the division's units participated in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine, specifically in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where they suffered significant losses, as repeatedly noted in the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in OSINT investigations. Shortcomings in the maintenance, repair, and supply of equipment for which he was responsible may have directly contributed to the reduction of the division's combat capability and led to unjustified personnel losses in so-called "meat assaults," where a lack or malfunction of equipment is compensated for by manpower. He is part of the command vertical responsible for planning and conducting operations that resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of service members.
