As chief of staff of the 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment, Andrei Bezlyudko participated in the planning and organization of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, bearing responsibility for the actions of the unit, which suffered significant losses during the offensive in the southern sector. Subsequently, commanding the 429th Motorized Rifle Regiment, he led a unit actively engaged in heavy combat in the Zaporizhzhia sector, where Russian forces employed "meat assault" tactics, resulting in high casualties among personnel. Under his command, the regiment, which is part of the 58th Combined Arms Army, was implicated in shelling civilian infrastructure, which qualifies as war crimes.
