Roman Andreyevich Borsuk

Guard Colonel Roman Andreyevich Borsuk is the commander of the 137th Guards Airborne Ryazan Regiment, which is part of the 106th Guards Airborne Division. Under his command, the regiment has actively participated in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine since February 2022.

Initially, the unit was deployed in the Kyiv direction and was subsequently transferred to participate in intense combat operations in eastern Ukraine. Borsuk bears direct responsibility for the operational planning, combat readiness, and actions of his regiment's personnel during these campaigns.

The 137th Guards Airborne Regiment under Borsuk's command suffered significant personnel and equipment losses during the initial stages of the invasion, particularly during the unsuccessful offensive on Kyiv. Subsequently, the regiment was deployed in costly "meat assaults" across various sectors of the eastern front, including the Bakhmut and Kupiansk areas, resulting in heavy casualties among the paratroopers. Documented high loss rates and the aggressive tactics employed by the unit indicate a disregard for the lives of subordinates.
