From February to April 2022, he commanded units of the 1065th Artillery Regiment of the Russian Airborne Forces as part of the "Vostok" (East) group of forces. Area of operations — western part of Kyiv Oblast. His subordinate personnel are involved in targeted artillery shelling of populated areas, which resulted in the deaths of civilians, including minors.
Guards Colonel, Hero of the Russian Federation — the title was awarded by a closed decree of the President of the Russian Federation on December 29, 2014, "for courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty"; he assumed the position of commander of the 1065th Guards Artillery Regiment on April 9, 2019.
Prior to this appointment, he served in the 7th Guards Airborne Division, participated in the First Chechen Campaign (1994–1996) as commander of an anti-tank platoon of the 1141st Guards Artillery Regiment, the UN peacekeeping mission in Yugoslavia (1999), and the Russo-Georgian War of 2008.
