Vitaly Vladimirovich Gorin

Guards Colonel Gorin Vitaly Vladimirovich serves as the commander of the 234th Guards Air Assault Chernomorsk Regiment, which is part of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division. Under his command, the regiment has actively participated in Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine since February 2022.

The unit was deployed in key areas, including the Kyiv Oblast, where its actions resulted in numerous civilian casualties. Gorin bears direct responsibility for the actions of his unit during the aggression.

Under Gorin's command, the 234th Regiment participated in the offensive on Kyiv in February–March 2022, where it suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment. The regiment was implicated in the occupation of settlements in the Kyiv region, including Bucha, where mass war crimes against the civilian population were documented. The regiment's actions were characterized by tactical failures and the inability to accomplish assigned tasks, which led to a retreat from the region. Subsequently, units of the regiment were redeployed to other sectors of the front, where they also continued to sustain heavy losses.
