The Kherson City Court in absentia found Alexander Lebed, a former SBU officer from Crimea who defected to Russia in 2014, guilty of treason and violation of the laws and customs of war: in July 2022, together with Russian military personnel, he broke into the apartment of Kherson volunteer Roman Baklazhov, abducted him, and tortured him with electric current. The sentence is 15 years of imprisonment with deprivation of military rank; it entered into force on May 7, 2025 (case No. 766/12885/23).
