Police Lieutenant Colonel Veniamin Mazhzerin, who served in the OMON 'Obereg' special unit of the Rosgvardia Directorate for Kemerovo Oblast, was killed in an explosion in his own car in Kemerovo Oblast. Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR) claimed involvement in the elimination, calling it revenge for Mazhzerin's war crimes in Kyiv Oblast.
