The Center for Journalistic Investigations reported that Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian police, Andrey Polevshchikov (born March 24, 1982, Krasnodar Krai), became the new head of the illegally established occupying 'Gornostaevsky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' in the Kakhovka district of Kherson Oblast, replacing Sergey Kretz. Prior to his appointment in Kherson Oblast, Polevshchikov headed the police department of the Oktyabrsky district of Tomsk. The occupiers equipped a military commandant's office and a detention facility for civilian hostages in the department's building.
