The 200th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Northern Fleet (Pechenga) is one of the most documented and heavily affected invasion formations: it suffered severe losses in the first weeks of the war near Kharkiv, lost almost three-quarters of its tanks during the unsuccessful defense of Kupyansk in autumn 2022, and its servicemen reported commanders executing their own comrades.

The 200th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (military unit 08275) of the Northern Fleet was formed in 1997 on the basis of the 131st Motorized Rifle Division of the Leningrad Military District. From February 24, 2022, it operated as part of the 'Yug' (South) group in the Artemivsk direction, but effectively began the war with an offensive on Kharkiv with approximately 100 units of equipment, where it clashed with the 92nd Mechanized Brigade of the AFU near Derhachi and suffered heavy losses: by early March 2022, brigade commander Denis Kurilo was severely wounded, and two battalion tactical groups were reduced from 1400–1600 to fewer than 900 personnel. An unsuccessful attempt to retake Kupyansk in late September 2022 resulted in the loss of 18 out of 26 T-80BVM tanks and dozens of other equipment units. The brigade also participated in battles for Chasiv Yar and in the Sumy direction (2025). According to the Norwegian publication The Barents Observer, a serviceman of the brigade reported commanders executing their own soldiers for insubordination and desertion.
