The 7th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle (Chystiakove) Brigade was created in November 2014 based on personnel from an armed formation from Sloviansk, which broke out of encirclement into Donetsk on July 5, 2014; for a long time, it was part of the Donetsk Corps of the DPR People's Militia alongside the 1st, 3rd, and 5th brigades. Since December 31, 2022, the brigade has been integrated into the Russian Armed Forces, and its military unit number changed from 08807 to 40321. On October 23, 2024, units of the brigade occupied the settlement of Serebryanka during combat operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
