The 73rd Guards Brigade of Water Area Protection Ships is one of the main combat formations of the Red Banner Caspian Flotilla, based in Baku until 1992. After the collapse of the USSR, it was redeployed to Astrakhan Oblast. The brigade includes the 327th Division of Missile Boats, including the small artillery ship Astrakhan of Project 21630, and the boats Volgodonsk and Makhachkala.
