The 41st Guards Combined Arms Army is an operational formation of the Russian Ground Forces within the Central Military District, with headquarters in Novosibirsk; its current composition was formed in 1998 based on the command of the Siberian Military District. The army's core consists of the 35th, 55th, 74th, and 137th separate motorized rifle brigades, recruited in Kemerovo, Tyumen, and Novosibirsk regions, Khakassia, Altai Krai, and Tuva. According to Wikipedia, units of the army participated in the Battle of Kyiv in 2022 and continue to operate in the Donbas direction; in autumn 2025, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), army units operated south of Pokrovsk and were redeployed to the Novopavlivka direction in Donetsk Oblast. According to data published by NV.ua on July 17, 2025, citing the 'I Want to Live' project, as of June 1, 2025, the army had lost at least 8,625 killed, 10,491 missing in action, and 7,846 deserters; the largest losses were sustained by the 74th Brigade from Kemerovo Oblast (2,479 killed, 2,732 missing in action) in the Pokrovsk area.

According to Wikipedia, units of the army participated in the Battle of Kyiv (2022) and continue to operate in the Donbas direction. According to ISW's assessment (a report citing the Institute's data was published by 'Zerkalo' approximately on October 10, 2025), units of the 41st Army operated south of Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, and were redeployed to the Novopavlivka direction. No direct documented accusations of war crimes specifically addressed to the command of the 41st Army (unlike individual units of other formations, such as the 64th Brigade, responsible for Bucha) have been found in open sources to date.
