The 30th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade 'Sarmat' (military unit 45863, Roshchinsky) advanced from Sievierodonetsk (2022) through the Svatove direction (2023) to the assault on Avdiivka (2024), for which it received its Guards title; open investigations also include an accusation of killing civilians in Pokrovsk in late 2025.

The 30th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District) participated in the offensive on Sievierodonetsk from April 2022; in May 2023, it fought near Makiivka in northern Luhansk Oblast; in July 2023 – defensive battles near Karmazynivka and Krasnorichenske (13–17 km southwest of Svatove); in January 2024 – operations near Novobakhmutivka north of Avdiivka. On February 7, 2024, units of the brigade (together with the 114th Brigade) reached Zaliznychnyi Lane during the assault on Avdiivka, for which they received commendation from the supreme commander-in-chief on February 17, 2024. On July 31, 2024, the brigade was awarded the 'Guards' title. According to the Ukrainian project 'I Want to Live,' in late December 2025, servicemen of the brigade allegedly killed seven and wounded one local resident in Pokrovsk, after which they set the house on fire. According to the same investigation (Interfax-Ukraine publication dated December 29, 2025), the suspects in the killing on the night of December 21, 2025, at 84 Tsentralna Street, are Rifleman of the 1st Assault Platoon, 2nd Assault Company, 1st Assault Battalion Galimzyanov Rinat Ralifovich (born May 31, 1996, dog tag AB-537852, native of Neftekamsk, Bashkortostan) and Rifleman of the 2nd Assault Company, 1st Assault Battalion Agafonov Aleksey Anatolievich (born March 27, 1987, dog tag Yu-810131, native of Kyakhta, Buryatia, previously convicted); identified victims are father and son Oleksandr and Yaroslav Zavadskyi, the Hulko family (father Dmytro, mother Oksana, son Dmytro, and grandmother Nadiia) and a man named Oleksandr, while survivor Petro Merontsev was wounded and feigned death.
