The 4th Air Defense Division named after Hero of the Soviet Union B.P. Kirpikov evolved from the 3rd Sector of the Training Unit (1953) through the 10th Special Purpose Air Defense Corps, the 88th and 37th Air Defense Divisions to its current name (2014) and became part of the 1st Special Purpose Air and Missile Defense Army in 2015.
