The 24th Separate Guards GRU Special Purpose Brigade (military unit 55433, Novosibirsk) is one of the army special forces units that suffered the greatest documented losses in the war against Ukraine. In addition to combat losses, the brigade is linked to accusations of war crimes against the civilian population in Chernihiv Oblast in the first weeks of the invasion.

The 24th Separate Guards GRU Special Purpose Brigade operated in the Chernihiv, Mariupol, and Donetsk directions. According to investigations by InformNapalm and data from the Ukrainian side, servicemen of the brigade are suspected of involvement in mass killings of civilians in the villages of Novyi and Staryi Bykiv, Chernihiv Oblast. On May 2, 2022, Ukrainian military personnel destroyed a group of the brigade's fighters in Donetsk Oblast.
