The 7th Guards Air Assault (Mountain) Division of the VDV (military unit 61756) from Novorossiysk is one of the oldest VDV formations, operating in the Special Military Operation as part of the 'Dnepr' and 'Sever' groupings; in July 2025, its regiments participated in the capture of Kamenske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

The 7th Guards Air Assault (Mountain) Division was formed in 1948 on the basis of the 322nd Guards Parachute Regiment; in 1993, it was redeployed from Kaunas via Maykop to Novorossiysk, where it performed peacekeeping tasks in Abkhazia from 1993-1996. The division is participating in the Special Military Operation as part of the 'Dnepr' and 'Sever' groupings. On July 17, 2025, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov congratulated the division on the liberation of the settlement of Kamenske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast – the operation was carried out by paratroopers of the division's 108th and 247th Air Assault Regiments, advancing in the Orikhiv direction.
