The 27th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (1st Guards Tank Army) advanced in the northeastern direction in 2022. According to media reports, the formation was defeated on the territory of Ukraine, with at least five servicemen taken prisoner (including platoon commander Senior Lieutenant Murad Askerov, Sergeant Yuri Yaskvadov, driver-mechanic Vladislav Fyodorov, Senior Sergeant Alexander Eliseev, Private Sergei Ivanov). When sent to the front, the command concealed from mobilized personnel the fact of participation in combat operations, presenting it as exercises in Belgorod Oblast; a deficit of supplies (in particular, communication equipment) was noted.
