The 291st Artillery Brigade (military unit 64670, Ingushetia) is one of the formations most thoroughly documented by InformNapalm regarding incidents of shelling Ukrainian territory since 2014; investigators have identified dozens of names of involved servicemen and traced the brigade's 'combat path' from Crimea to Donbas.

The 291st Artillery Brigade (58th Army, Southern Military District) is one of the most frequently featured artillery formations in InformNapalm's OSINT investigations: since August 2014, it has been documented in a series of publications about shelling Ukrainian territory from border areas and with incursions into Ukrainian territory, which InformNapalm classifies as war crimes ('War Crimes of the 291st Artillery Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces in the War Against Ukraine,' parts 1 and 2). Investigators identified specific servicemen, including contract soldier Albert Arzumanyan-Davydov, who leaked photographs of the brigade's 'Tyulpan' mortar. One of the brigade's battalions in the summer of 2014 served as the basis for a new artillery regiment subsequently deployed in occupied Crimea.
