Yaroslav Dronov, known as SHAMAN, is a Z-artist whose career skyrocketed in 2022 on patriotic songs about the war; since September 2023, he has officially been a trusted representative of Vladimir Putin in the presidential election.
In January and February 2023, he performed concerts in Luhansk, Mariupol, and other occupied Ukrainian territories, as well as for wounded servicemen.
On June 24, 2024, he was included in the EU sanctions list for active support and promotion of the war against Ukraine, as a result of which his YouTube channel with over 800 million views was blocked — in response, he held a concert outside the US Embassy in Moscow.
In July 2024, by decree of Putin, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation; he has also been placed on Ukraine's sanctions list for a period of 10 years.
