Case summary
Boris Korchevnikov is the Director General and General Producer of the Orthodox television channel Spas, as well as the host of the program The Fate of a Man on Russia-1 and a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Since December 2022 (the EU's 9th sanctions package), he has been under sanctions by the European Union and Switzerland for disseminating Russian state propaganda; the Ukrainian military sanctions registry describes him as one of the key propagandists justifying war crimes and legitimizing aggression against Ukraine.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in 2022–2023 Korchevnikov repeatedly crossed the border illegally and traveled to temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, where he spoke in support of the Russian military leadership.
On March 19, 2025, the SBU formally notified him in absentia of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation via the mass media, and illegal border crossing.
