On March 16, 2022, servicemen of the 2nd self-propelled artillery battery of the 2nd Air Assault Battalion of the 2nd Battalion Tactical Group of the 234th Air Assault Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, on the order of Captain Gorelov Aleksey, brutally beat and then killed a civilian citizen of Ukraine in the city of Bucha.
Gorelov personally beat the victim and also gave a direct order to his subordinates to kill the civilian. According to eyewitness testimonies, the Ukrainian citizen pleaded in vain with the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces to spare his life.
