According to open registry data, while serving as Deputy Commander of an Aviation Squadron (on Tu-95MS aircraft) for military-political work of the 182nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 326th Heavy Bomber Aviation Division of Long-Range Aviation of the Air Force of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, and also previously holding the position of aircraft commander of an aviation detachment, he combined ideological support functions with direct participation in combat operations.
